Description

Free Software tools for robot and sensor applications, composed of:

  • Player: A network server for robot control.  Provides clean and simple interface to a robot's sensors and actuators over an IP network.  Supports a variety of robot hardware.  Runs on Linux, Solaris and BSD.
  • Stage: Simulates a population of mobile robots, sensors and objects in a 2D bit-mapped environment.  Most commonly used as a Player plug-in module.  Can also be used as a stand-alone C library.
  • Gazebo: Multi robot simulator for outdoor environments. Similar to stage but utilizes a 3D world.
